Basics of Our Faith

As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

An Open Table: Communion in the United Methodist Church

Holy Communion, or the Lords Supper, reminds us that Jesus Christ is the host and we all participate at Christ's invitation.  Jesus invites us to take part in the special meal that he ate with his disciples before his crucifixion.  We believe that this holy sacrament should be open to anyone who loves Christ, earnestly repent of their sins, and longs to live in peace with one another.   To learn more about United Methodist Communion, click here.
