One of the first things Jesus does as he begins his ministry is to seek out those disciples who will follow him, learn from him and discover who he is and what God’s Kingdom is really all about.  The gospel writer John identifies Philip as the one who introduces Nathanael to Jesus with the words, “Come and see.”  “Seeing” Jesus opened the way for Nathanael’s confession of Jesus as Lord.  His confession compelled Nathanael to follow Jesus along the way.
