Beloved Church Family,

At the end of last week, the “Level of Community Transmission in Madison County, Indiana” according to the CDC changed from yellow (moderate) to red (high). This leaves us no choice but to once again request observance of the COVID-19 safety protocol for all Anderson United Methodist Church gatherings for vaccinated and nonvaccinated persons. Please follow these guidelines so we may continue to gather safely:

1. Wearing facemasks appropriately* by all persons (vaccinated or unvaccinated) inside Anderson First United Methodist church buildings will be required beginning immediately.
* To wear a facemask “appropriately” means that the facemask covers your nose and mouth.

2. Worship 9 a.m. Outside at Davis Park – wear your facemask appropriately when moving around. When seated the facemask may be removed until you stand and move around again. 10:45 a.m. Inside in Downtown Sanctuary – wear a facemask appropriately when moving around. When seated the facemask may be removed until you stand and move around again. Until further notice, we will continue to sing at both worship services.

3. Small Group Gatherings – When speaking in a meeting, your facemask may be dropped below your mouth to be heard, and then immediately placed back over your mouth to be worn “appropriately” throughout the gathering/meeting.

4. Coffee & Donuts, and Meals, i.e., JOY Lunch – these will continue to be served at your own risk. Facemasks must be worn before and following the food. Your cooperation is expected, your support and prayers are desired. This is an extremely difficult place for us to be in after restrictions were relaxed for vaccinated persons.

I will continue to monitor changes daily and will keep you fully informed. With Madison County rate of fully vaccinated persons is only 44.7% of the population, this may last a while. As questions or concerns arise, please call, text, or email Pastor Corinne Boruff at 317-902-1843 and corinne@andersonfirst.org.
